Power Supply Systems
Design, engineering, and integration of reliable power supply systems for industrial facilities and corporate clients.
Power Supply Systems for Industrial Facilities
Developing power supply solutions requires taking into account operational loads, safety regulations, and the conditions of process equipment. Design activities cover calculating electrical loads and the power balance of the entire facility. All engineering decisions are coordinated with adjacent sections, including related electrical installation works at the site to prevent issues during mounting. This step is necessary to determine the overall capacity requirements of the facility.
- Calculating electrical loads and power balance.
- Selecting appropriate power distribution equipment.
- Planning external cable lines and grids.
Power Distribution Network Design
Based on load calculations, single-line diagrams of distribution networks are developed to support stable power supply. Design includes selecting cable products, calculating cross-sections, and detailed routing of cable paths inside and outside buildings. Correct cross-section calculations help reduce energy losses in cables and protect circuits from overloads. Engineers pay special attention to voltage drop calculations for long-distance runs.
- Developing single-line distribution diagrams.
- Calculating short-circuit currents in networks.
- Designing cable routes and tray layouts.
Power Distribution and Load Connection
The power distribution infrastructure at industrial sites includes input distribution units, main boards, and switching hardware. To ensure quality integration of these units, the supply of electrical equipment is organized strictly according to project specifications. Special attention is paid to power factor correction units to improve the quality of power. Proper component layout in distribution cabinets ensures safe maintenance and access for technicians.
- Arranging component layouts of distribution boards.
- Integrating power factor correction units.
- Connecting automatic transfer switches (ATS) systems.
Verification of Design and Installation Solutions
All design and technical solutions undergo verification for compliance with the current standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Power supply engineering is coordinated with adjacent facility engineering infrastructure and utility networks. The finished package contains connections diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment specifications for conducting subsequent works. The documentation serves as the main guide for installers during on-site activities.
- Verifying compliance with technical standards.
- Coordinating electrical schemes with utility networks.
- Preparing the complete set of working documentation.
APS has operated in Kazakhstan since 2009 and delivers industrial projects in the oil refining, gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining, and energy sectors. Its projects use solutions from Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, Emerson, Yokogawa, Honeywell, and other industrial automation manufacturers.
