Fiber-Optic Cable Installation

Laying optical fiber cables provides data links between facility buildings. Installation is performed in trays, conduits, underground sewers, or on poles. Cable types are selected based on site environment conditions. Fiber-optic lines are a reliable network, supplementing copper communication lines inside facilities. Optical transmission is immune to electromagnetic interference, making it ideal for high-voltage industrial zones. Armored cables are chosen for buried sections to prevent damage from roots and rocks.

Optical Fiber Splicing and Joint Installation

Splicing works are performed on cable ends using fusion splicers. Technicians strip fiber cores, cleave them, and perform fusion splicing. Splice joints are protected by sleeves and arranged in splice trays of joint closures or patch panels. Materials supply for patch panels is coordinated under industrial equipment supply. Precision cleavers are used to ensure core angles are perfect before the fusion arc. Heat-shrink sleeves are shrunk over the bare fiber area using the splicer heater.

Optical Link Testing and Diagnostics

After splicing, fiber-optic lines undergo checking for signal attenuation. Measurements are performed using testers to define the optical loss budget. Optical link testing and diagnostics include OTDR tests to locate splice defects, macrobends, or connector losses. Measurement data is recorded in reports. OTDR testing produces a complete graphical trace of the line, mapping all splices. Checking is done from both ends of the run to ensure average loss values.

Integration with Communication Infrastructure

Integrating fiber lines includes connecting them to the network. Optical patch panels are connected to media converters and network switches. This connects control panels and server rooms. Network connections are coordinated with other engineering infrastructure for data flow. We configure redundant fiber loops (ring topology) to maintain network traffic if a cable breaks.
